Clear Mind, Open Heart:
The Path of Meditation

Weekly Class

July 8th - August 12th

6 Tuesday evenings     7:00 PM to 9:00 PM

Walk in the Woods - morninglight.usThis class will present two meditation practices: mindfulness meditation and the practice of loving kindness.

Mindfulness meditation strengthens attention and allows us to let go of distractions.  We learn to appreciate the simplicity and peace of the present moment.  Through regular meditation practice our mind becomes increasingly clear, calm, flexible and aware.

The contemplation practice of loving kindness is a well established method of opening the heart, developing more love and caring both for ourselves and others.  It is the companion practice to mindfulness.  Together they fulfill each other.

Cost:   $75 if registered by July 1st, $100 thereafter

Instructor:  Scott McBride

Location:  The Main Line Unitarian Church

The Basics of
Mindfulness Meditation

Weekly Class

August 4th - August 25th

4 Monday mornings     10:00 AM to 12:00 PM

Walk in the Woods - morninglight.usThe practice of mindfulness meditation is becoming widely recognized, mostly as a result of scientific research, as an effective method to improve concentration, reduce stress, enhance coping skills and to increase a general sense of well being.  For centuries it has been at the core of Eastern spiritual practices enriching the lives of millions.  Because of its effectiveness mindfulness is beginning to make contributions to a variety of disciplines such as stress management, spirituality, psychotherapy, healing modalities, weight loss, education, safety, and more.

In this four week course you will learn the basics of mindfulness meditation and how to begin or continue a daily practice.

Cost:   $60 if registered by July 25th, $75 thereafter

Instructor:  Gabriel Rocco

Location:  The Main Line Unitarian Church
