Healing Through Self-Acceptance: Weekly Class January 17 th - March 20 th 10 Thursday evenings 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM
The contemplation practice of Loving Kindness is a well established method for opening the heart, developing more love and caring for ourselves and others. It is a companion practice to mindfulness. Together these two practices complete each other. In this course we will focus on developing loving kindness towards oneself and the ability to be an impartial witness to our experience. These two psychological skills form an essential foundation for success on the path of meditation. They provide a way to develop unconditional friendship with ourselves, a healing self-acceptance of all that we are. We will learn to apply these practices to the wounding effects of our self-judgment, to our fears and anxieties, our hurts, our sadness, and anything that is in need of more awareness, healing and love. As self-acceptance grows, peace and happiness increase many times over - and true spirtual growth unfolds naturally. This course is a more in-depth study of this subject than was presented in a short course last summer. The course includes a Saturday morning group meditation intensive from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Saturday February 9th. Cost: $125 if registered by January 10 th, $150 thereafter Instructor: Scott McBride Location: The Main Line Unitarian Church Click here to link to registration information for this class .
